Every design for Vaxholm

Have you ever stepped off the boat in Vaxholm and felt the salt water in the air? The archipelago town on Vaxön is the main town of Vaxholm municipality and one of the most obvious gateways out into the Stockholm archipelago – full of wooden houses, jetties and seafaring.

It is a place that stirs the feeling of summer and slow days by the water. On the map you find Vaxholm Citadel in the middle of the approach and the Vaxholm fortress museum telling of the town's role as the archipelago's sentry. A little way off lies Bogesund castle, while the Rindö redoubt and the Pålsund battery bear witness to the district as a fortified waterway. Up in the Ytterby mine several chemical elements were discovered – a small piece of world history on the edge of the archipelago.
