Every design for Vansbro

At Skamsberget a landscape opens up that feels typical of western Dalarna – water, forest and small inlet names such as Bredviken and Långviken along the shores. In the middle of it all lies Vansbro, the main town of the municipality that shares its name, at the place where the Vanån flows into the Västerdalälven.

It is exactly the meeting of the two waterways that gives the town its character. Lake Grimsen is in the district, and names such as Järnbäraren hint at country where nature has always lain close to daily life. Vansbro is the sort of place you return to, however far away you have ended up.

On the map the Vanån's way towards the Västerdalälven stands out clearly, and for anyone who recognises the stretches of inlet and the lakes the shirt becomes a small mark of recognition. Follow the river's line with a finger and land at the outflow – where Vansbro grew up.
