About Tumba
Tumba mill museum
The lakes all around
Main town of Botkyrka
At the Tumba mill museum the story is told of the paper mill that gave the town its character, and all around the water spreads out in every direction. Kvarnsjön, Uttran and Tullingesjön are within reach, and Södra Aspen appears among the trees – Tumba is a place where the forest and the lakes are never far away, in the middle of greater Stockholm's south-western edge.
It is the mood of daily life that stays. The commuter train pulling in, a walk down towards Kassmyrasjön, the evening light over the water. As the main town of Botkyrka municipality, Tumba has both the nearness of the city and a calmer rhythm of its own – something many carry with them long after they have moved on.
The town actually reaches across the municipal boundary and takes in parts of Salem, with Rönninge within its area. That makes Tumba more than a point on the map – it is a landscape you grew into. The design on this shirt shows exactly the blocks and lakes that make it feel like coming home.
