The Sjuhärad district
In the Sjuhärad district, in the middle of southern Västergötland, Tranemo is gathered around its lake. Tranemosjön spreads out in the middle of the town, below Tranemo church rising above the houses. The Jälmån, the Sämån and the Todde brook run into it, and out of the lake the Assman makes its way on towards the Ätran – a landscape where the water is always moving.
It is a district that breathes calm and forest. Perhaps you remember summer evenings by Lilla Kroksjön, dancing at the Parkudden festival ground or moments down at Hålet – places that stay long after you have moved on. Tranemo has that quiet self-evidence that marks anyone who grew up in the Sjuhärad district.
