Every design for Skärhamn

Skärhamn lies on western Tjörn and is the municipality's main town, in the middle of the Bohuslän landscape where granite meets the sea. The red Nordic Watercolour Museum has become a gathering point by the water, and the Skärhamn maritime museum recalls how closely the place has always lived with the sea.

It is a place that stays in the memory – the smell of seaweed, the light over Breviks kile and the silence out in the Härön nature reserve where the archipelago opens up. Many who grew up among these rocks carry with them the feeling of always belonging here, however far away life has taken them.

A turn along the Breviks kile nature reserve catches exactly what Skärhamn is about: sea, stone and a stillness few places can match. Having that coastline and the familiar inlets printed on a shirt becomes a small way of taking Tjörn with you wherever you go.
