Every design for Säter

At the Säterdalen nature reserve, a winding ravine system just north-east of the centre, you find something of what makes Säter Säter. Here in Dalarna, with lake Ljustern glittering beside the community, daily life moves at a calmer pace than in most places. It is one of the very smallest among the places that once held town status, and that small-town feeling shows in the streets.

Take a turn past the Säter Cinema museum or look in at the Museum of Mental Health Care, take the road towards Åsgårdarna and on out to the mirrors of water at Sävstjärnen and Knapptjärnen. These are blocks you recognise, places where you know where you stand with each other.

And when the eye follows the names on the map – Ljustern, Säterdalen, the streets you have cycled since childhood – that quiet feeling of belonging right here settles in.
