Every design for Sandviken

In the middle of Gästrikland, surrounded by water and forest, lies Sandviken - the main town of Sandviken municipality in Gävleborg County. The town grew up in a works setting, and to this day that history feels close as you move through the district.

Around the town the landscape spreads out in lakes and tarns. Storsjön and Tunasjön are among the larger waters, while smaller gems such as Fiskängstjärnen and Bergsängstjärnen are set into the forest edges. If you want to understand the roots of the place, the Smedsgården works museum and the old Torpet Isaka are obvious fixed points telling of life and work in the district.
