Every design for Örkelljunga

Where the E4 cuts through the north Skåne landscape, Örkelljunga lies framed by water – Hjälmsjön spreads out right beside it, and around you find Abborrasjön and Prästasjön. As the main town of its municipality, the village has kept the feeling of a church village, with Örkelljunga church as an obvious gathering point and old parish roots still evident in the place.

It is the lakes that stay in the memory. The smell of pine forest, a mirror-smooth surface early in the morning, perhaps a dip in Hjälmsjön or a walk past the old quarry where the rock was once broken out. Örkelljunga is one of those places you return to, however far away life has taken you.
