Wood and glass have shaped the whole place from here, and the forest district once gave the foundation for the industry that grew up towards the end of the 1800s and made Nybro a town. Today the place is marketed as the gateway to the Kingdom of Crystal, an obvious starting point for anyone wanting to discover the district's glassworks.
Walk through the centre and you come across Glas i centrum and public artworks such as Ett lyckat kast and Fågelmän och fabeldjur. At the Nybro Glasbruk shop the glass inheritance is close at hand, and at the Kvarnaslätt heritage farm the older history lives on.
