Halfway between Örnsköldsvik and Umeå, beside Nordmalingsfjärden out in the Bothnian Sea, lies Nordmaling. The town belongs to the Nolaskog area of north-eastern Ångermanland and is the main town of its municipality, which counts as part of Västerbotten County.
