The Three Wooden Towns

"Such a little town, so much taste", the poet Anna-Maria Lenngren wrote of Nora – and the words still fit like a hand in a glove. Here you meet one of Sweden's best preserved wooden towns, with blocks of small wooden houses from the 1700s and 1800s that make the main town of Nora municipality something quite its own. Together with Eksjö and Hjo, Nora forms the Three Wooden Towns network, a living heritage rather than a museum.

The water is never far away. Norasjön spreads out beside the town, and a little further off are Åsbosjön and Hagbydammen. The Three Lakes road winds through the district, and the queen of crime writing Maria Lang was glad to let her stories take place in exactly these surroundings. It is a town you easily grow attached to.

If Nora is where you feel at home, you carry it with you gladly. On this shirt you find the streets and lakes that shaped your walks and memories – a small greeting to you who know exactly where the wooden houses stand and where the sun lies on the lake on a summer evening.
