Do you recognise yourself in the blocks around Vattentornsparken, or is it Midgårdsbadet that stirs the memories? Märsta has grown from countryside into a lively main town with a character of its own, and the traces of that journey remain in parks and monuments around the place. The telegraph monument recalls a time when communication and movement shaped the area – something that still marks it today.

Märsta lies in Uppland and is the main town of Sigtuna municipality in Stockholm County. The greenery of Äppelparken and Sätunaparken shares the place with a community of barely 30,000 inhabitants, large enough to have a pulse but small enough that you greet your neighbour. Its position makes the town a natural junction north of the capital.

Vattentornsparken is, for many, where childhood summers and everyday walks melt together.
