Every design for Lerum

Lerum spreads out by lake Aspen, twenty-odd kilometres east of Gothenburg, where the E20 and the Western Main Line run past and make the town an obvious place in between. As the main town of the municipality it has an air of everyday life at a comfortable pace – close to the city but with the forest and the water on the doorstep.

What marks the district is all the small lakes. Bävsjön, Furtjärn and Häcksjön lie scattered through the forest, and by the water rests Aspenäs manor with its old weight. On the other side of Aspen, Jonsered comes into view. It is landscape made for walks, swimming and slow afternoons.

For anyone who grew up here the memories sit in exactly these inlets and paths. A shirt with the map of Lerum picks out the streets you cycled and the lakes you swam in – a small piece of childhood to carry with you.
