About Kungshamn
A fishing village in Bohuslän
The Smögen bridge
Main town of Sotenäs
Salt in the air, gulls over the harbour and that particular feeling of the Bohuslän west coast - that is Kungshamn. The town lies on a peninsula just north of Lysekil and is the main town of Sotenäs municipality, built from the old parts of Gravarne, Bäckevik and Fisketången.
Since the Smögen bridge went in in 1970, Kungshamn has hung together with its neighbour Smögen, and today the built-up areas count as grown together. Statistics Sweden even calls the combined town Smögen, Kungshamn and Väjern - a name that takes in this whole piece of coast.
It is a district full of gnarled rock names and hidden inlets. On the map, places such as Kropplehuvudet, Smöghålet and Holländarbågen turn up, wilful names only a coastal community could have. Wear this shirt and you get a piece of Bohuslän with you - right down to Norra Svanhålet.
