About Kungälv
The Göta älv and the Nordre älv
Bohuslän
The Nordic folk high school
Where the Göta älv branches into the Nordre älv, some way north of Gothenburg, lies Kungälv. The town is the main town of Kungälv municipality in southern Bohuslän, and the landscape around it rises in marked heights. Valberget, Åseberget and Fontinberget are among the hills that give the place its character, together with Mossberget and Röseberget.
The E6 runs through Kungälv, and in Ytterby west of the centre the trains stop on the Bohus line. The Nordic folk high school is here too, and has left its mark on the town's life. Together the rivers, the hills and the Bohuslän setting make Kungälv easy to point out on a map.
If you have roots here, studied in the district or simply fell for the view from one of the hills – this map is for you. Wear it as a small greeting to a place where two rivers meet.
