Every design for Krokom

On the shore of Skaltjärnen, some way north-west of Östersund along the E14, lies Krokom – the main town of Krokom municipality and a place where the forest and the water are never far away. Here in Rödön parish, in the middle of the Jämtland landscape, daily life is marked by the nearness of nature and by the many tarns scattered around the town.

Kustjärnen, Svarttjärnen and Lomtjärnen are among the waters winding through the district, and Bånntjärn is one of those that gave the landscape its character. It is a town where you get out into the open quickly, where forest paths and mirrors of water become part of everyday life rather than an outing you have to go looking for.
