Every design for Kristianstad

In the middle of the wide Kristianstad plain lies the town that is Skåne's fourth largest and an old residence town. The ground runs so low here that parts of the town actually rest below sea level – Sweden's very lowest point, 2.41 metres below the surface of the sea, is right here. Embankments and pumps hold the water at bay, while hills such as Balsberget and Fjälkinge backe rise in the north and give a view over the rooftops.

It is a town with a Renaissance spirit and wide country around the corner. Perhaps you remember a walk past the King's Bastion, an afternoon at the Regional museum or the smell of old oil at the railway museum. The plain spreading outside town sets its own rhythm on life – calm, open and a little stubborn.
