Every design for Grums

At the entrance to Grumsfjorden, where the northern shore of Vänern begins, lies Grums – the main town of the municipality that shares its name. The town reaches out towards the water west of Karlstad, and it is precisely the nearness of Vänern that sets the rhythm here. The bays of Ustadviken, Pettersviken and Svenstorpsviken cut into the landscape and give the place its own outline.

There is something quiet about a town like this, where the water is never far away and the days follow the lake's shifts. Many recognise Karlbergs gård, and anyone who grew up here knows how the light settles over the fjord in the evenings. Grums is not a place that boasts loudly – it carries instead a quiet everydayness that stays with anyone who stops.
