An afternoon in Dalenparken, with greenery all around and the sculpture Den Svenska Tanten looking out over it all, says something about Gislaved. This Småland main town in Gislaved municipality carries its inheritance in the street itself – in Torgparken where people meet, in the calm of Kyrkparken, and in artworks such as Quaoar and Stjärnfall that have become natural parts of daily life.

For many, Gislaved stirs memories of cycling between the parks, of afternoons that stretched out, and of a town where you recognised the faces. It is a place that settled into the marrow of those who grew up here, however far away life later took them.
