About Boxholm
An old works town
The Svartån
The Southern Main Line
By the waters of the Svartån and along the Southern Main Line, Boxholm grew up as a works town, and the traces of that history are still here today. The Boxholm works museum tells of the years when iron and labour shaped the place, while the Skärvstenshögen burnt-mound bears witness that people moved through here long before the works even existed. Tranås lies to the south, Mjölby not quite ten kilometres north along road 32 – Boxholm has always lain in the middle of something, not at the end of it.
For anyone who grew up here the memories often sit in the places close at hand: summer days at the Timmerö bathing place, the trains rolling past, the river's slow course through the district. It is a town you recognise by its details rather than by any grandeur.
On the shirt you find the streets and waterways that make Boxholm Boxholm – from the works by the Svartån to the bathing place at Timmerö, drawn so that you recognise your way home at once.
