Every design for Borås

The knallar once set out from the Sjuhärad district with goods on their backs, and their instinct for trade lives on in Borås. The textile industry made the town Sweden's leading textile region, and the tradition continues today through factory sales of fabric. On Stora torget a statue watches over it all: Gustav II Adolf, the man counted as the town's founder.

It is a town you recognise by its artworks. The sculptures — the Pinocchio-like Non-Violence, Declination and Spoon — turn up where you least expect them, and Borås Konstmuseum gives the town a cultural pulse of its own between the streets and squares.

The largest town lying wholly within Västergötland, and yet with a feeling of home that holds on. Wearing the map of Borås becomes a way of taking that feeling with you wherever you go.
