About Askersund
The wooden-house town
Vättern and Tiveden
Sofia Magdalena church
Askersund lies where Närke meets Vättern, by lake Alsen, which forms the lake's northernmost bay. The little town is known for its well-preserved wooden buildings and its position between water and the vast Tiveden forest - a borderland where town life and wilderness meet.
On the map you quickly recognise the churches that shape the townscape, Sofia Magdalena and the country church. Down by the water you find Husabergsudde with its bathing place, and out on the lake runs the venerable passenger boat Wettervik. Look out across Vättern and Stjernsunds slott appears on the far side.
This shirt is for anyone with roots in Askersund, who found their calm on the shore of Alsen or simply carries the place with them. Printed in Sweden on soft organic cotton - a quiet greeting to a place between lake and forest.
