About Åseda

Åseda grew up in the early 1900s where the railway tied the Småland highlands together, and the town became an early junction for rail traffic. Towards the end of the century the lines were dismantled piece by piece, but the place remained the main town of Uppvidinge municipality and still carries traces of its role as a meeting point.

Its position in the middle of Småland's forests and lake-rich landscape marks Åseda. Around the town the waters spread out — Gassjön and Åkragöl, the smaller pools Brinkagölen and Säcka göl, and names like Kållen and Susan that recur across the district. It is a landscape of pine heaths, inlets and still water, where nature is never far away.

Carry a piece of this highland with you, wherever you are, and the map becomes a small anchor home. For anyone who has walked around the pools or grew up with the train whistle in their memory, the whole town is gathered on the fabric — Gassjön, Åkragöl and the small names only locals recognise. A greeting from the Småland forests, exactly where you want it.
