About Aneby
Stalpet waterfall
The Svartån
The Småland highlands
On the Småland highlands, between Eksjö and Tranås and a good way east of Jönköping, lies Aneby. The Svartån threads its way through the town until it plunges down Stalpets vattenfall — at 20 metres the highest waterfall in southern Sweden. Around the main town, forest and water spread out in the Furulid and Hyllingen nature reserves, and Skärsjösjön glitters a little further off.
It is that quiet feeling of home that stays with anyone who grew up here: afternoons in Svartåparken, evenings at Aneby folkets park and the sound of rushing water that never quite falls silent. Half the municipality's inhabitants live in this one town, and many know each other by name.
Stalpets vattenfall is what makes Aneby Aneby — a landmark to be proud of and a fine reason to carry the place with you even when you are far from home. The shirt with the map of Aneby is for anyone who knows where the Svartån runs.
