Every design for Åmål

Where Dalsland meets the wide waters of Vänern lies Åmål, the main town of its municipality and a town with the lake always within reach. Its position facing the great lake shapes the whole place, from the waterside promenades to the view out over the glittering water.

It is a town where history feels close to everyday life. Åmåls Järnvägsmuseum tells of what the railway meant, while the Hembygdsmuseet gathers memories from the district. Then there are the green breathing spaces — Plantaget, Sveaparken and Sjukhusparken — and Kungsberget, where you go to get the whole town and Vänern beneath you.

It is from Kungsberget that you understand why Åmål stays with you. The view over rooftops, parks and the open lake becomes a picture of home that follows you long after you have moved away.
