Every design for Sand

Sand is the settlement with Keplerstjernen on its map, an artwork that gives a short and common place name a landmark of its own. There is more than one Sand in Norway, and this one is known by its star and by the protected tarn at Ljøgodttjern naturreservat close by.

For people who grew up here, Sand is remembered in small, local things rather than in famous events. There are memorials to Christiane Koren and to the farm Døhlen gård, which tie the place to the people and farms that came before it, and there is the water of the nature reserve, left as it is.
