Every design for Råholt

Around Råholt kirke, at the centre of the village, new homes have spread steadily outward ever since the main airport opened at Gardermoen. Råholt has kept on growing, and the old shopping centre was pulled down to make way for Amfi Eidsvoll, while Råholt ungdomsskole, above Råholthallen, has won a design prize and counts among the most modern lower secondary schools in the Nordic countries.

Råholt lies in the southern part of Eidsvoll Municipality, with Eidsvoll's own centre to the north-east and Jessheim to the south. For most residents the station is Eidsvoll Verk, on the Gardermobanen line, with the airport only minutes away and Oslo half an hour further on. The E6 once ran straight through; it was moved to its own route and now bypasses the village. Away from the traffic, Stallgården, Galleri Festiviteten and the artwork Wegerlands briller give the place its own small landmarks, and the protected area Naturfredning - Andeleven, Nessa, Risa lies close by.

Coming home from a flight, it is only a few minutes from the runway to Råholt, and few places make the last leg of a journey feel this short.
