Pruszcz Gdański is the town where the Tricity Bypass begins, pressed against the southern edge of Gdańsk and part of the Tricity agglomeration, yet with a centre of its own. It is the seat of Gdańsk County, an industrial town with a railway station on the main line to Warsaw, and it sits right where the flat Vistula delta of Żuławy Wiślane meets the Kashubian lakeland. The Radunia river runs through it, and so does the Radunia Canal, dug as early as the fourteenth century.

The Międzynarodowy Park Kulturowy Faktoria belongs to a town with a long memory. Traces from the Bronze and Iron Ages and from Roman times have been found within today's limits, Polish kings often stopped here on their way to Gdańsk, and after the Second World War the post office opened as the very first Polish institution in town. Closer to everyday life are Dąb Jurek, the Park z Gruszą and Plac Jana Pawła II, the places people pass on the way to the station or the shops.

If you have ever crossed the canal on your way home, or watched the Radunia rise after heavy rain, this map is yours to wear.
