Corso Manthoné nightlife

Corso Umberto I runs from Piazza della Repubblica straight to the sea at Piazza Primo Maggio. It is Pescara's main shopping street, part of a rectangle of shops inside a zone closed to most traffic. A few streets away, Corso Manthoné, the street of the old Pescara, has been the centre of the city's nightlife for years, and the Ponte Ennio Flaiano spans the river that divides the town in two.

Pescara lies on the Adriatic coast at the mouth of the Aterno-Pescara river, at the end of its valley, and it is the most populated city in Abruzzo. The part south of the river was the old fortress town; the part to the north was Castellamare Adriatico. Low, sandy beaches run unbroken in both directions, the Marina sits just south of the river mouth, and the Riserva Naturale Pineta Dannunziana keeps a stretch of pinewood inside the city. Gabriele d'Annunzio was born here, and his birthplace is a museum.

If you learnt to swim on this beach and spent your teenage nights on Corso Manthoné, this map is already yours.
