About Karlshus
Råde's centre
Lake Vansjø
Råde Station
Trains on the Østfold Line pull in at Råde Station, and the village around it is Karlshus, the administrative centre of Råde municipality in Østfold. The E6 runs straight through, and Moss Airport, Rygge is close by.
What gives Karlshus its own character is its place on the south side of the lake Vansjø, with Ryggebyen a short way to the northwest. In the village, Tusenårsparken and Tusenårsplassen mark the centre, while Råde Bygdetun and Råde forsvarsmuseum keep local history on show. The water of Karlshusbunn and the viewpoint at Fugleleiken complete the picture.
