About Épinay-Sur-Seine

Known for

a bend of the Seine

Known for

film studios

Known for

the RER C

Épinay-sur-Seine follows a bend of the Seine on its right bank, facing L'Île-Saint-Denis, with Saint-Denis and Villetaneuse on one side and the towns of the Val-d'Oise on the other. A bridge across the island links it to Gennevilliers.

It is the westernmost town of the Seine-Saint-Denis, in the northern suburbs of Paris, and the land slopes gently from the edge of the Montmorency plateau down to the river. Daily life runs on the RER C and the Transilien, and on the walk along the water. The town hall is a former château where a king consort of Spain spent his last years, and from the early twentieth century the Épinay Studios made films here. Green spaces such as the Coulée verte and the Jardin d'Alcobendas, named after the Spanish twin town, sit among the housing estates, and the Allée couverte des Déserts recalls a far older past.

If Épinay is where you learned to ride a bike along the Seine, this one is for you.
