A4 crossroads

How many times have you crossed the Wisłoka at Dębica on the way east? The town sits right on the seam between two landscapes: the Carpathian Piedmont rises in its southern districts, while the north opens onto the Sandomierz Basin along the river. Fields cover a good part of the town and forests much of the rest, and the Strzyżów Foothills begin at its southern edge.

There is a feeling of being on the move here. The A4 motorway runs just north of town, Rzeszów is under half an hour away, and the main railway from Poland's western border to its eastern one passes through. Yet Dębica is also a place people come home to, an industrial hub since before the Second World War, known far beyond the region for its tyre factory. Its history reaches back to a medieval settlement on the trade route from Kraków to Lwów. Muzeum Regionalne keeps that longer story, and an old steam locomotive stands among the town's sights.

Wherever you drive now, you know the exit for Dębica. This one is for you.
