Every design for Brattvåg

Brattvåg sits on the west side of the Samfjorden, on the mainland, the administrative centre of Haram Municipality, with Ålesund and Molde the nearest towns. It began as an industrial project rather than a village: nobody lived here until the rights to the falls on the Synnalandselva were signed over in 1911.

Helland fort lies near the village, but the landmarks most people here know are the shipyard and the factories. Vard builds ships in Brattvåg, and the Kongsberg deck machinery works here is the largest maker of winches in the world. Around them there is a cinema, a bowling alley, Brattvåg Fjordhotell, Brattvåg Church and the local paper, Haramsnytt.
