Île Seguin
1930s architecture
From the slopes of the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud, Boulogne-Billancourt spreads out below in a low plain wrapped by a loop of the Seine. It is the first commune downstream of Paris, bordered by the capital's sixteenth arrondissement to the east and the Bois de Boulogne to the north, and it holds one island in the river, the Île Seguin.
The Hippodrome de Longchamp, just beyond the northern edge in the Bois de Boulogne, recalls the land the town gave up when Longchamp was taken for a racecourse. Inside the commune, the Parc Edmond-de-Rothschild is the largest green space, and the Musée Albert Kahn and the Musée Paul Landowski sit among streets of 1930s buildings from the town's golden age.
On the Île Seguin, where Renault's factories once stood, La Seine musicale now rises from the water at the island's tip.
